Cardiac arrest stands as the third leading cause of death globally. Every year, on or around October 16, the World Restart a Heart (WRAH) day raises global awareness about out-of-hospital cardiac arrests and promotes the critical importance of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Through training, advocacy, and outreach, the campaign strives to increase CPR rates, improving survival outcomes for cardiac arrest victims. The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) recognised the success of its predecessor, European Restart a Heart, which was first launched in 2012 with the goal that everyone should have the chance to learn CPR – because it only takes two hands to save a life.
The Arab Resuscitation Council is proud to be an ILCOR Constituent Council supporting the World Restart a Heart Campaign since 2022.
In 2022, our ten-day campaign reached over 343,415 individuals across 22 Arab countries, delivering hands-only CPR training, conducting live on-site demonstrations, and engaging with audiences via our social media platforms.
With a mission to save lives, members and organizations from 22 Arab countries unite each year to spread awareness and teach life-saving skills not only around October 16 but throughout the year. By participating in this campaign, members will play a pivotal role in spreading the message that every person has the power to save a life.
Join the Arab Pulse Wave Campaign today and help us spread the saving lives skills.
