Dr. Hicham El Berri is a Medical Doctor and Specialist in Public health. Dr. El Berri currently assumes the position of Medical Officer in charge of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) Management in the Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health Division (NMH), at the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, based in Cairo, Egypt. He has a total of 18 years of work experience in public health and NCDs mainly in primary health care acquired through clinical practice and progressive public health management experience. In his current position, Dr. El Berri contributes to providing strategic and technical support to the Member States of the region, in scaling up their efforts to better prevent and control NCDs.
